As a child, I always wanted to be in charge of my health and well-being and wondered what I needed to do to be healthy and live a conscious, quality life. Growing up, I always loved styling hair and making it look beautiful.

             From 9 years old and as far back as I can remember, neighborhood parents would send their kids to me to have their hair styled....(actually that is how I learned to braid hair) and loved every moment of it. I became the neighborhood Hair stylist. After completing high school,l worked at a few banking institutions, but my heart was always longing for my first love, cosmetology. Eventually, I took the jump and went full-time into cosmetology. This afforded me the freedom to focus on what it took and was needed to keep both my clients and my Hair in its most healthy state. I would research various plants and herbs and discover the natural active ingredients and potent synergies that have stood the test of time with the scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness in the world of plants. I would purchase herbs and create compounds and infuse them into my shampoos, conditioners, and treatments.

            Once I tapped into various compounds/solutions, I would call one of my friends and colleague (Denise) who was also a cosmetologist, and we together would seek out and research herbs, and she too would do the same for herself and her clients. I was given the name the mixologist. I can remember asking one of my clients who was a Doctor what does one need to take daily to be healthy. She told me to just take vitamins. This led me on a research journey to find out the benefits of each vitamin I was taking. This became very expensive because the more I researched, the more I found out about other vitamins, however, I wanted the benefits of being healthy. At some point, my journey led me to a school in the United States; that is where I met my husband. After being married for 14 years, my husband passed away in his sleep from a massive heart attack. This awakened and reignited my passion and quest to further explore and forge a deeper connection with the natural historical powder of plants and herbs for a path to optimal health. Exactly one week after my husband's passing, I discovered Dr Sebi, the father of Holistic health practices, who had a resounding confidence in the therapeutic, empowering healing capabilities of natural plants and herbs, and I've been on this exploration journey from 2015 to this present time. When I would come home to the Bahamas for visits, I began noticing so many people sick and taking prescription medications, as they walked on and around God's cornerstone of rich, effective, natural, organic, alkaline, electric and medicinal plant medications, and primary source for health, without side effects. This revelation got my attention to further delve in and commit to detailed research into the traditional cultures of the medicinal plants, fruits, and mushroom kingdoms in the Bahamas and around the world. My findings of the superior purity and quality of plants and fruits have led me to information that cannot be ignored and has deepened my commitment to get this information out. I will continue to research the benefits of natural ways to deal with health issues and expose the remedies and benefits of herbal botanicals/plants and fruits. I have decided to share and provide remedies, products, and services that ground and restore the body to its natural healing functions to improve the quality of life and make an impact in health and healing.​ 

              Thus, Island Medicinal Herbs and Teas was birthed as a resource center to point the way to God's Primary source for THE way of life. Our vision and goal is to provide the knowledge on how the fruit, plant and mushroom kingdom treats and prevents ailments; and the fact that the whole plant it's fruits, leaves, seeds, flowers and roots including the barks is valuable and is essential for optimal health.
